Diagnostic Medical Sonography

CAAHEP-accredited, the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program trains students to use ultrasound technology to capture images of the body’s organs, tissues, and blood flow. Graduates are prepared to sit for ARDMS certification exams and work in hospitals, imaging centers, and specialty practices.

CAAHEP-accredited, the Cardiac Sonography program prepares students to perform echocardiograms and other diagnostic cardiac imaging procedures. Graduates are eligible for the Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) credential and careers in hospitals, cardiology clinics, and heart centers.

CAAHEP-accredited, the Invasive Cardiovascular Technology program equips students to assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional heart procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab. Graduates are prepared to earn the Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) credential and work in hospitals, surgical centers, and cardiovascular facilities.

The Radiologic Technology program trains students to operate X-ray equipment to produce diagnostic images that help physicians detect and treat medical conditions. Graduates are prepared to take the ARRT certification exam and pursue careers as radiologic technologists in hospitals, clinics, and imaging centers.

The MRI Technology program prepares students to use magnetic resonance imaging systems to create detailed images of the body for diagnosis and treatment planning. Graduates are ready to take the ARRT MRI certification exam and work in hospitals, imaging centers, and specialty clinics.

About the ICVT Pilot

This first-of-its-kind pilot is designed for experienced Cath Lab technologists who already have extensive on-the-job training but have not yet earned their Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS).

Program Highlights:

  • Credential Earned: Associate of Applied Science in Invasive Cardiovascular Technology

  • Weekly Commitment: 6–10 hours (varies by quarter)

  • Location: Training conducted onsite at Modesto Memorial Hospital (Additional hospitals coming soon).

By combining classroom education, hands-on lab training, and clinical rotations at the participant’s current workplace, the program minimizes disruption while maximizing learning.

Flexible Learning, Real-World Impact

Lab instruction is integrated directly into Memorial Medical Center’s facilities, ensuring students gain practical experience in a familiar environment. A qualified technologist will oversee competency sign-offs, keeping training aligned with Sutter’s high patient care standard
