Obtaining a GED/High School Diploma Completion

GED.Com: GED.com provides testing, study tools, and general test information.

Sacramento County Library Adult Education: Sacramento County Library’s GED program is open to Sacramento County adult residents and prepares students for the GED through individualized tutoring.

Natomas Unified Adult Education: Natomas Adult Education provides free or low-cost GED evening classes and ESL classes.

Twin Rivers Adult School : Twin Rivers Adult School provides free GED preparation and a high school completion program. The programs are offered on-line and in-person.

Sunrise Adult Education Center : Facilitated by San Juan Unified School District, the Sunrise Adult Education Center provides high school completion courses, GED prep, and more.

Foreign Diplomas

All Foreign Diplomas must be evaluated and certified by an organization approved by NACES. Those organizations can be found here.

World Education Services: WES provides fast service and has provided over 3 million evaluations.

SpanTran: SpanTran provides quick evaluation services and has been in business for nearly 40 years.

Educational Records Evaluations Service : ERES provides in-person evaluation help (Fairfield, CA) as well as evaluation services in Arabic and Russian.

Transcript/Diploma Retrieval

In general, the first step in retrieving your diploma is by contacting the issuing institution (i.e., your high school). If you school is no longer in operation, please see the resources below.

CA Department of Ed: The California Department of Education webpage provides general GED testing information, as well as instructions on how to receive a copy of your GED/High School Diploma.

The BBPE can provide transcripts for post-secondary private schools that are no longer in operation. Click here to request transcripts for one of these schools. If your closed school is not on the list, please head here.
